Surgical Treatment and Professional Education STaRS' team demonstrates leading-edge pediatric reconstructive surgical techniques and provides educational courses on-site to local medical professionals. Under STaRS team's direction, host country surgical team and medical support personnel actively participate in treatment planning, surgery and follow-up care. Majority of treatment is done by host country's surgical team and medical support personnel; STaRS assists in complex cases. Host country's surgical team and medical support personnel function independently. STaRS' team provides ongoing training and support, focusing on latest advances.
